Creating New Images

Creating New Images:
First of all you have to create a blank image. Click ‘File’ from the menu bar and then click ‘New’, this will open a ‘new’ dialog box (Fig. 1).

Type a name for the image in name window and then set the width and height (Fig. 2).

Select the mode in mode window (Fig .3).

Choose the required option of your image for the contents of the background layer (Fig. 4).

v  Background Color will fill the ‘background’ or the ‘first layer’ with the current background color.
v  White will fill the background / first layer with white or default background color.
v  Transparent will make the first layer transparent, with no color values. The resulting document will have a single, transparent layer as its contents.
Note:  When you’re finished, you can save the settings as a present by clicking the Save Preset button or you can click the ‘ok’ button to open the new file.
